The Official Olympic Museum Audio Tour
The Olympic Museum in Lausanne is a one of a kind museum. Having opened just 20 years ago, the venue houses both permanent and temporary exhibits relating to sport and the Olympic movement.
As part of their 2020 plan, the International Olympic Committee decided to carry out a complete renovation of the Olympic Museum involving the architecture, the Olympic Park and museum spaces, education and services. To accompany the tour of the new permanent Olympic Games exhibit, the museum needed a new multilingual audio guide.
MyOrpheo proposed a turnkey solution comprising Android hardware support, and the development of a private Android application available only on museum hardware, in French, English, German, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese. Using the app’s built-in indoor positioning feature, users can explore the history of the Olympics from the origin of the five rings, to the diet and exercise regimens of Olympic athletes.
The Olympic Museum sees more than 200,000 visitors per year, many of which have enjoyed the official application, available exclusively at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne. Visit www.olympic.org/museum for more information.
